The dawn was just raising on Keldabe and it was a bright morning. MandalMotors had been working to complete a master piece for the new Mandalore. His only specifications were to a create a ship of legends. Cadus Fett, Mandalore the Uniter, stepped out of the speeder as it landed close to the construction site. He was in awe of the ship(Imperious-class Star Destroyer) they constructed. Boarding the observation craft, he was taken around the external of the ship. Once the inspection was complete, Mandalore took the ceremonial paint prepared for this event and painted a small Mythosaur skull, naming it 'Warhammer'. While boarding the ship, Cadus entered the command deck as the final insignia was placed onto the ship's hull.

"This is your Mandalore speaking. Today is a glorious day. With our new capital ship, we will begin our conquest of new worlds! No longer will we be slaves to the will of others, today we claim what is ours!"

Sitting back into his chair, Cadus glanced out at his fleet forming around his flagship. The applause from his warriors thundering through out the ship. He glanced out of the ship into the universe in front of him. "It will be ours."

Mandalore gathered his advisers to himself, preparing a meeting in his war room. They were looking at all the worlds nearby, seeing where they could expand. The holomap showed all the available territories around them. This is what they had been working for, this is what they had trained for. Others had used them as tools for their own conquests, now this would be their crusade. They had built up their war droid, trained a whole new generation of Mandalorian warriors waiting to prove themselves in the glory of battle.

After hours of contemplation, the planet decided to face the force of the Mandalorian war machine would be Taris. The splendor and wealth of this planet would be theirs for the taking. Immediately, orders were given to the clans to assemble their warriors, to launch their capital ships, and to ready their war droid. The star port around Keldabe soon was bustling with armor clad warriors preparing themselves for war. This is what they wanted, what they needed. Finally they had a purpose and a cause. Once again, they would honor their ancestors with glorious combat. Mandalore watched with pride as his forces marshaled together, preparing for their conquest. He sat alone, going through their numbers, deciding who would lead the assault on the chosen planet.

Mandalore's flagship entered Taris's orbit. He already had deployed 100 Rangers and 5 Crusader class Corvettes to investigate the planet. With him, he brought 1 Kandossi Dreadnaught, 5 Vengeance-class Frigate, 50 Kom'rk-class Fighters, and 75 Skipray Blastboats for his campaign fleet. The campaign army is comprised of 60,000 Mandalorian warriors, 15,000 Assault Mandalorians, and 5,000 Basilisk War Droids.

Taris, having no warning or provocation for the attack is severely unprepared. The Crusader Corvettes had been hiding behind the moon launched the beginning of the attack. As the campaign fleet entered into the battlefield, the Warhammer began pounding at the station above the planet ripping to pieces. Quickly, the star fighters are deployed mopping up any of the security fighters deployed.

As quickly as they came, the Mandalorians controlled the space around Taris. The planet was completely besieged. The light security force was a minimal threat to the war driven Mandalorians. The Taris skyline was now filled with Mandalorian warships leaving a threatening presence over the planet.

Mandalore sat in his war room. He had watched as the security force was ripped apart by his fleet. The pilots were celebrating their initial victory in the mess hall. By his decree, Mandalore had given all the new pilots anything they wanted to drink. Currently he sat alone, contemplating their next move. As he sat enjoying his celebratory drink, a messenger came to report their losses.

"Mandalore, we lost a total of 5 fighters and one Corvette. The space around Taris is ours and is undisputed. Their space station was completely eradicated. We can commence bombardment of the planet at your command." The messenger gave a respectful bow to Cadus.

"Very good. Give the men time to rest. We will prepare for our invasion and prepare for our descent onto the planet. This world and its riches will be ours. Rest, prepare your war droid, and tomorrow glory will be ours." Mandalore patted the messenger on the shoulder and sent him back to his squad.

Before Cadus went to his quaters he looked out the command deck looking over the planet. It was quiet. The tension could be felt. Inhabitants of the planet were surely worried about the invaders in orbit. Throughout the night, Rangers had been planting explosives at key locations preparing for the impending invasion. As he sat back on his bed, he polished his armor preparing himself for the battle ahead. Memories flooded through his head. He remembered the first time he lead men in battle. The rush he received from fighting on the front lines. He remembered being responsible for those that died and those that survived. So many of his friends died under his command. He had to stay strong, be the ideal his men strove to be. He could not falter or all of their hard work would be for nothing. He would honor the first Mandalore and lead his men to greatness. It was his job to bring as many home as possible and still bring riches home. His duty to his people meant everything to him and these decisions were not ones he made easily.

With the battle plan drawn up, Mandalore went to sleep, resting for the coming battle.

"Everybody stay calm!" Despite his words, the growing crowd was starting to become a mob. Every citizen on Taris wanted to board the evacuation shuttles and leave. The Mandalorians had come too fast for Taris' defense force to do anything of use. Varino Bekva was head of the security force, which now included the remnants of the Tarisian Defense Force. A wall of riot control officer stood against the wave of screaming, desperate citizens with shields raised. Varino shook his head solemnly, and turned away. He swiftly walked from the crowd which was gathered just outside the starport where the security force was forced to make a forward operating base (FOB) to regulate the evacuation as well as keep a major avenue of approach secure.

Entering the starport, Varino was greeted with men in light blue uniforms. Some wielded mere blaster pistols, some wielded blaster rifles. Despite the training, they weren't ready to fight such a large and well trained foe such as the Mandalorians. Varino looked over what little of the men he could see in the lobby turned command center. Most were praying to whatever deities they believed in, and others were silently weeping, hoping they and their families would make it out alive. Varino frowned, knowing that it was damned near impossible to survive this.

"Chief!" a young, female voice snapped Varino's attention to a brunette kneeling next to a large, ground based, interstellar communicator. Her face was ghost white with a hint of green and her eyes were as wet with tears ready to be shed as they were wide in shock. "Transmission from the Orbital Station, sir," she paused, looking down from Varino, the first tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. "It's been destroyed, sir. The Mandalorians control the space around the planet."

"We can't evacuate, then," Varino said quietly, though loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. The command center fell completely silent, all eyes were on him. Without evacuation, billions of people would die to the hands of the Mandalorians. As the Chief of Security, it was his job however, to take as many Mandalorians with them as possible. He pushed the tears that were threatening to surface down, and he resolved the panic that was setting in his heart. His gaze became steel. "There's no escape for us, so the only option is to fight. This our home, these are our families. If they die, we die, and we're going to take as many of those Mandalorian bastards with us as possible!" The speech wasn't as well regarded as he had hoped, but it would do. Many of the men and women got up from their seats and began moving around Varino to take orders. Varino turned to the communications operator first. "Send a long range transmission, only one. Send it to Coruscant. Tell them Taris is under attack and will fall and that we request aid immediately!" The woman gave a nod and set about her work. Varino turned to the men and women around him.

"I want sharpshooters on the roofs of buildings and heavy repeaters in windows overlooking major avenues of approach," he ordered, looking at the defense force men and women first. They nodded and scrambled to carry out the orders. The defense force at least had the means to deal some heavy damage, while the hardest hitting weapon the security force had was a blaster rifle. Varino turned to his deputies. "Stations One, Two and Three will stay here and guard the starport. The rest of you will take your stations and scatter across the planet. If you can no longer hold them off, retreat to the undercity."

"The undercity, sir? But the gangs wi-"

"The gangs will have no choice but to band with us if they hope to survive," Varino said, hoping he was right. The deputies nodded and set to work. They now only needed to wait, and it would be the longest wait for the quickest end of their lives.

Mandalore awoke to a bang on the door. Rak're Ordo, a Taung who was a leading member of Clan Ordo, dressed in his battle ready armor was standing outside waiting on Mandalore. Equipping his Armor, Cadus exited, turning his attention to Rak're. "Mandalore, the Tarisians have sent a transmission to Coruscant. We were able to record the message. They are requesting aid from the Republic." Rak're gave a respectful nod to the Mandalore communicating the message.

Cadus entered into the command deck.
"Bring up a communication feed with the Tarisian authorities." Cadus stood by waiting for them to be ready to record his message. "Attention Tarisian authorities. I am Mandalore the Uniter. Your planet will fall to us one way or another. Any attempt to escape will be shut down. We do not seek to waste anymore life than we need too. What I propose is your leader and I can settle this through a duel to the death. If I emerge victorious, you will submit to the Mandalorian way of life and will offer no further resistance. If your leader emerges victorious, my warriors will return home with no more violence against your people. You have one standard hour to decide" Cadus ended the message sending it to the Tarisian central command. Preparing himself for the upcoming combat, Mandalore sat down reflecting on his life. If he could save Mandalorian lives, he would. They needed to settle this before the Republic could mobilize a fleet.

Following the command of Mandalore, Rak're opened the intercom throughout the fleet.
"Attention fleet! Mandalore will challenge the leader of Taris's forces to a duel. When the Mandalore emerges victorious, Taris will be ours and they will join us in our crusade! If they decline to the duel, we will begin immediate bombardment of all population centers. They have one hour to respond. Prepare yourselves and bring glory to Mandalore!" Rak're ended the transmission. He had complete faith in his Mandalore after seeing him in numerous battles. Mandalore had led them successfully before and had united the clans. As Mandalore, he had always put the Mandalorian people first and trusted his judgement. He put on his helmet and prepared his war droid. It would not be long now.

On the Command deck, Cadus readied his weapons. It was getting close towards the end of their deadline to hear back from Taris. Their was tension throughout the fleet. The Mandalorians were ready to follow their Mandalore in battle. They were arranging the fleet to prepare for any possible reinforcements to come from the Republic.

Mandalore approached back to the communication center on the command deck, waiting to hear back from Taris. Soon their fates would be decided with many lives hanging in the Balance. Cadus turned to the communication screen waiting.
    "So what is your answer?"

"Sir, the Mandalorian leader just sent us a transmission! They want a duel to the death, victor gets their way," the communications woman announced. Varino shook his head. "They say we have an hour to respond." Varino knew no one on Taris could best the leader of the Mandalorians, and so did the Mandalorians. The only reason they would have to settle the fight in a duel was to beat the Republic, if the Republic even came. The will to end the conflict before anyone could send aid to Taris meant that the Mandalorians would do anything short of leveling the entire planet to get their way. Varino turned his gaze to the mass of civilians outside. He frowned.

"Tell Station One, through Three to start evacuating civilians to the undercity," Varino said. The communications woman looked a bit shocked but nodded and set about her task. Varino swiftly made his way to the back of the command center, entering a doorway that led to a pretty large sized room meant for luggage transfers. Six men and four women lounged about in dark grey armor and dark blue fatigues. Every single one of them turned a steely gaze to Varino as he entered. These men and women were the best of the best Taris had. They were the special detachment of security forces that had equipment generally only seen in the military, and they were the detachment that handled anything the regular security forces couldn't handle, such as gangs. Each member of this team had at least five years experience fighting the gangs in the undercity. The Mandalorians would be more than a match for only ten of them, but they would cause more damage than anything the regular security forces could throw at the Mandalorians.

"I need you at the entrance to the undercity," Varino ordered. The team members nodded slowly. "Your objective is to protect the civilians entering the undercity for as long as you possibly can, and then get into the undercity yourselves, understand?" Again the team nodded in unison and began to grab the rest of their gear. Varino sighed; after a long, restless night, he'd have to wait another hour before the action started. He'd have to get as much done as possible.

For the next hour, he roamed the near by streets, making sure that the Defense Force men and women were in place and ready for a fight. The Mandalorians wanted a fight to the death, Taris would give them one. The hour mark struck as Varino entered the command center again. "Sir, Mandalorians want to know our answer," the communications woman said, visibly trembling. Varino couldn't give her a smile, but he placed a hand on her shoulder as he took the communicator.

"This is Chief Varino of the Tarisian Security Forces. Unfortunately, duels to the death are illegal here on Taris, so we're gonna have to decline your rather polite offer," Varino said before dropping the communicator and ending the transmission. He turned to face the command center, with all eyes on him. "Get to the undercity, NOW!" he yelled. Everyone in the star port began packing up and leaving. Varino jogged from the starport to a local restaurant building not too far down the block. It was strategically placed in the middle of heavy repeater and sniper fields of fire. He made his way to the roof and turned his eyes upward, waiting for the worst. The fact that the Tarisian government was no where to be found wasn't surprising to him; they were a bunch of coward drunks that were in it for the money, anyway.

Hearing the response from the Taris Security force, Cadus grew grim under his mask. Those who knew him knew his disdain for cowards and needless bloodshed. "Record another transmission!" Mandalore regained his composure as they began recording. "Members of the Republic. As you are aware by now, Taris is now at war with Mandalore. This is a planetary dispute you need not worry yourself with. If you enter this conflict, you will enter into a drawn out bloody war that will take more lives than your Conflict with the Hutt Cartel. Stay out of this dispute and Mandalore will stay out of your space." When the transmission ended being broadcast to Republic officials, Mandalore went down to the hangers where his war droid was readied.

As the assault force readied themselves, the blastboats were deployed dropping off payloads onto the surrounding population centers. The explosives set by the Rangers were detonated, destroying many of the elevators. The Rangers took up their deployment stations scoping out any security snipers they could find. This is what they had been preparing for. Many had a deadly accuracy and little hesitation in spreading chaos. Right now, their objective was to clear out as much of the resistance as possible.

As the Rangers began their operation, the blast boats made their runs, obliterating skyscrapers. Hours passed as Rangers picked off as much of the security forces as they could. All the while bombs were detonating in the background. The security stations were their primary targets. Once the blasts started slowing down, the landing shuttles came flooding down. The war droids led by Mandalore made strafing runs as they landed. The shuttles immediately landed deploying the assault troops. Blasters were immediately being fired as they were deployed. Their blaster fire appeared to be a massive wave of energy being fired at any opposition.

Quickly, the Mandalorians dug in creating barricades holding off enemy fire. War droids made sweeping runs decimating all opposition. Mandalore instructed his men to incapacitate any civilians and keep them alive and safe. He led the War Droids buying time for the assault warriors to finish their barriers. Once their deployment zone was secure, the assault forces began pushing forward executing any who resisted their onslaught. Mandalore perched his war droid on a building issuing orders to his men. Their goal was to identify the enemy leader and execute them.

"Bring me the hut'uun's head!" Mandalore shouted, spurring his men to greater feats. This battle needed to be brought to an end as soon as possible. The loss of life needed to be kept to a minimum. Killing the civilians would accomplish nothing.

The first explosions were the worst. The tops of skyscrapers fell, leaving anyone on top of the building, in it, or underneath it, dead immediately. The security stations themselves, the places that Varino had called home many a night, were all obliterated within the first few minutes. He looked on in horror as the Mandalorian bombers swooped down, annihialating entire blocks of the street and buildings. Streams of blaster bolts poured into the sky as the majority of the Defense Force fired at the bombers and incoming transports. Very few actually noticed the Mandalorians already on the ground, picking off heavy repeater and sharpshooter targets at will with little to no opposition.

"Sir," Varino's comlink crackled. He brought it up to his face so he could both hear and reply. "Bombs have been detonated in the elevator shafts." Varino cursed under his breath, then keyed the comlink.

"How many elevators are left?" he asked.

"None, sir," the voice replied. It was a woman's voice, but not the same as the one from before in the starport. This woman was calm and collected. There wasn't even a trace of empathy in her voice at all. Aside from the voice, what troubled Varino more was that without the elevators to the surface, those in the undercity would eventually die out, as there was no source of food or water down there other than what's been stored. It may have just been an oversight, but the Mandalorians just killed millions of people and trapped them under the planet's surface.

"Have the security forces handle the civilians. I need your group to hunt down the Mandalorians already on the ground out here. They're picking off our heavy repeaters," Varino ordered. There was a sound of acknowledgement but he had already put the comlink back on his belt and was now sprinting with heavy blaster pistol in hand toward a squad of the Mandalorian scouts that were shooting at his men in a near by building.

Street level seemed more dangerous than being on the roof of a building. Blaster bolts swept the area, both meant and stray. The group of Mandalorian scouts were thankfully, so caught up in picking off targets, that Varino caught them unawares, and proceeded to shoot them all and kill them. It was then that the transports came and began their landing. Varino ducked in an alleyway as the first ramps lowered to unleash the Mandalorian hordes on the planet. They would be met with two heavy repeaters from a building across the way, which would kill and wound quite a few of the first Mandalorains to step foot on Taris, but they were destroyed promptly by the war droids that seemed almost invulnerable to standard weaponry. Within minutes the barricades were finished, and the Tarisians had no way of routing the Mandalorians from place. Especially when the assault Mandalorians began pushing outward.

Knowing Taris better than the Mandalorians, Varino made his way through back alleys and through crumbling buildings. He had to link up with someone, hopefully the team he sent as hunter-killers.

    -----

The ten person team moved swiftly and silently through the dark alley ways of Taris. They followed the sounds of blaster fire. Every Mandalorian that came into view was cut down immediately by well trained, experienced fire. They were only scouts, however, and the team had yet to face the landing force that had dropped mere moments before. Their goal, however, wasn't to stop the invasion force, but to make it as costly to the Mandalorians as possible. Armed with the heaviest hand-held weaponry Taris had to offer, they were doing just that and more.

The one thing they learned early one was that picking up dead Mandalorian weapons was a must. They were heavier than their own, but more powerful and accurate. The first squad of assault Mandalorians the team encountered were the vanguard of the assault forces on Taris. The team got the drop on them, and were able to take a few down, but the moment they had opened fire the return fire was immense, and two members of the team were almost immediately killed.

They used hit and run tactics, firing at the Mandalorians and taking down as many as they could in a few seconds, then ducking into the dark alley ways or crumbling buildings, leading the chasing Mandalorians into a Defence Force heavy repeater. They repeated this tactic, causing immense damage to the advancing Mandalorians. With only eight people left, they had to be very careful.

The Mandalorians began pushing their barricades forward. As they pushed, any Tarisian fighting them led to bodies beginning to pile up. Mandalore took back off on his War Droid leading the charge followed by the assault troops. "Target the professional security forces and the rest will crumble!" Mandalore communicated through their communicators. While his war droid unleashed all its fire power into the mass of resistors, he took his rifle and targeted the Security sergeant holding together this line of resistance. With the pull of a trigger, the Tarisian was dead, his men breaking before the Mandalorians.

Rak're, the old Taung veteran who had fought in countless battles before was leading a team of Mandalorians to where the few remaining rangers survived.
"Report!" Rak're walked to the surviving commander of the Rangers. A young Tongorian addressed the seasoned veteran. "Sir, we have successfully supressed much of the heavy repeater fire. The Tarisians have a special force that has held us back." The Mandalorian picked his rifle back up and exchanged further fire with the security force. Mandalorian medics addressed the wounded surviving Rangers as Mandalorian regulars began to take their places exchanging heavier fire. Rak're took the lead. They took cover and targeted the special forces as they tried drawing the Mandalorians out to be slaughtered. "Not today hut'uuns." Rak're began tracking their movements preparing his next step of attack.

Cadus rode atop his war droid accompanied with his battalion of war droids. The Tarisians stupid enough to stay in the open were cannon fodder for the Mandalorians. The Assault troops maintained their positions suppressing all enemy forces. Their armor deflected most Tarisian shots. Over head the war droids hovered through the city forcing any Tarisians in the open to take cover or take their fire head on. Much of the skyline of Taris's city was destroyed.
"Fight on my Mandalorians! We will win the day. They cannot stop us! Keep the streets locked down and take the civilians alive." The Mandalorians began setting up control points at the intersections taking minimal casualties. For every Mandalorian that died, 10 Tarisian resistance fighters died. As the Battle spread throughout the city, more warriors were continually dropping to the city. In the center of their area of control, the Mandalorians began fortifying an intact office space making it into a temporary fort setting up strategic maps of the city. From the ships, the Mandalorians brought down a communication jammer to cut down on any frequencies not their own.

"Citizens of Taris, lay down your arms. The Mandalorians seek to free you from your corrupt leaders. Lay down your armors and the bloodshed will stop. With your surrender, we can begin to rebuild and heal your planet. Together, we can forge a new future." This signal was transmitted across the city over any other frequency not their own. Surely those weak of heart would not keep fighting if the fighting would stop soon. The roof tops of buildings were certain death as the war droids controlled the skies.

The center of the city was now under Mandalorian control as ships continued to bring supplies and men from the fleet. As the fighting ceased in the center of the city, it had already spread to the fringes as the Mandalorians began locking down on as many choke points in the city as possible. Over every Mandalorian command point, 2 war droids flew overhead to maintain control. All over the city, flags of Mandalore were raised.

The Mandalorians were unstoppable. Once they figured out to take out entire sections of buildings to get rid of the heavy gunners, the elite team that had been dwindled down to six members in the fighting were forced to retreat. Along the way, Varino finally caught up with them. The reunion was short and to the point. The team was told to go into hiding. They would get as far away from the invading forces as possible and try to find a way into the undercity. When asked why he wouldn't just lead them there himself, Varino shook his head solemnly. He couldn't leave the remainder of surface dwelling security and defense forces without a leader. The team understood, and they went their seperate ways, disappearing into the shadows of alleys and debris.

Varino gathered as many fighters as he could, setting up in the buildings and rubble around a courtyard. The courtyard had two entrances; the sky and the door. Both were heavily watched by at least three heavy repeaters and two sharpshooters at all times. The rest of the men and women were lined up in windows and along the rubble, waiting for the Mandalorians.

With his back to the rubble wall that his forces were using for cover, Varino leaned back and looked up into the sky. If it weren't marred by the smoke of burning buildings and people, the sky would have looked beautiful. A calm, serene feeling came over him as he stared upwards. His body entered a trance like state, and his ears muffled any sounds coming to him. Suddenly it was just him, and the planet he was born and raised on. A small, genuine smile began to curl his lips. Varino closed his eyes, his childhood running by in his mind in his one moment of peace.

Many Mandalorians had died this day. Their actions bringing glory and honor to their clans and families. As the Mandalorians established control, many Tarisians surrendered to them. Civilian camps were established among the rubble to give them first aid and shelter. Mandalorian missionaries walked among the civilians seeing to their needs and teaching them of their culture. Any able bodied men were given an option, join or be subjugated. Mandalore passed by on his war droid seeing his men do their jobs. This planet would follow Mandalore and be reborn. "Repair the elevators and get below. Take supplies, food, and medicine. The Undercity has been abused by the elite of this planet for far to long." Mandalore gave his orders waiting for them to be carried out. The resistance on the upper levels had now been cornered off to one last pocket of fighters. Riding atop his war droid, Mandalore lead his elite warriors towards the courtyard. "You have fought valiantly against a superior force. Surrender now and your lives may be spared. End the bloodshed, enough of my warriors have perished." Mandalore shouted towards the last group of resistance fighters.

The Tarisians who joined the Mandalorians were loaded on shuttles and shipped to the fleet. From there, they would be shipped to training grounds on Mandalore and earn their armor. Those who did not join would be expected to serve Mandalorians and would be considered second class citizens. The bravest of the fighters who surrendered were adopted by some of the major clans and would be trained by some of the most elite warriors. Their new recruits would replenish their ranks and allow the Mandalorians to begin expanding. Mandalore would rebuild their factories and they would serve as a means for the production to expand the Mandalorian war machine.

As Mandalore confronted the group of fighters, the basic repairs to the elevator were repaired. The supplies were readied and the Mandalorian missionaries were ready. A security force was readied to protect them in their missions. Mandalorians did not separate themselves in castes. The strong were elevated to lead those that were weak, but they were expected to protect the weak that held them up. The make shift lift was readied and the supplies were loaded. A new day was about to dawn for those in the undercity.

"Fought valiantly..." Varino repeated under his breath. His eyes weren't even fixed on the Mandalorians, but rather kept straight into the sky. "Enough of your warriors have died..." The Mandalorians had invaded, and the conflict resulted in a kill ratio of ten Tarisians for every one Mandalorian. Yet this Mandalorian claims enough of his warriors have died. Varino shook his head slowly, lowering his gaze to the men and women around him. They all looked scared. Maybe the Mandalorian was right; maybe they could surrender and live and things wouldn't be so bad. "If any of you wish to surrender, do so now," Varino said, making sure all the Tarisians could hear him. Not a single one left their post, but rather tightened their aim on the Mandalorians and the war droids.

Varino turned his gaze to the Mandalorians. "Seems you have your answer, Mandalore," he said, signalling a chopping motion with his hand. At once, every heavy repeater, sharpshooter, and regular blaster in the courtyard erupted on the Mandalorians. Due to the tight space of the courtyard, the Mandalore would lose quite a few of the men he brought with him, and even some war droids from the sheer volume of continuous fire that was being poured into them.

    ---

Mean while, the remnants of the elite team, led now by Sergeant Vallyrie Kogura, had found a sink hole created by the sheer amount of buildings collapsing and explosions littering the Tarisian surface. She led her team down into the depths which was more their home than the surface ever had been. Each and every one of them had spent at least three years accumilative down in the undercity; they knew every nook and cranny.

According to their holomap, they were one kilometer away from the nearest elevator where the majority of the security forces would be. Vallyrie led her team in that direction. Surprisingly, no gangs tried to stop them. They were able to make it to the Security Outpost in a matter of minutes. They arrived just in time to find the elevator become operational again. The elevator cart whirred and clunked before beginning it's ascent to the surface.

Vallyrie turned to her team. "Kill every Mandalorian that comes down that elevator." The team nodded in unison and took up positions. Vallyrie swiftly jogged to the acting security chief in the undercity to coordinate a defense.

"We're doomed. They fixed the elevators!" the chief was exclaiming to his aides. Vallyrie shook her head and slammed her fist onto the desk that emitted a holo map of the entire undercity.

"We're not doomed," she said, her voice cold and clear. "Get security teams to cover the elevators for any elevator that has an outpost of refugees under it. The other elevators will no doubt be covered like hawks by the gangs." As she explained this, the first shots were fired. Every Mandalorian in the elevator was killed, and the supplies removed before the the cart went back to the surface. One of Vallyrie's team members ran up with a datapad and handed it to her. The datapad had a list of everything the Mandalorians had brought down with them. "Supplies. Food and medical," she said.

"They're trying to buy the undercity?"

Vallyrie surprised even herself with her smile as she turned to the security chief. "They want to end the conflict to begin rebuilding. What they don't realize is that the gangs will see this as an opportunity to step up their game. They think they're buying loyalty but the gangs will just do what we just did: kill the missionaries and take the supplies." She turned to her team member. "Head back to cover the elevator. We'll form a more strategic plan once everything has settled down."

Mandalore moved out of the line of fire taking several war droids with him. The Assault Mandalorians took the brunt of the fire. The first line fell as they returned fire. As the second line moved forward, the Tarisians begin to fall apart one by one. Cadus's war droid scaled the building, reaching the top in a matter of minutes. After Mandalore reached the top, his war droid jumped diving down into the middle of the Tarisians followed by the other war droids. Blasting the ground beneath him, the remaining fighters fell quickly. Only one fighter was left. Mandalore dismounted stepping on top of the stunned warrior. "Should have surrendered when you had the chance hut'uun." Drawing his elongated beskad, Mandalore drove it into Varino's throat ending his life. Once he was certain his foe was dead, Mandalore cleaned the blade, sheathing it before mounting his war droid.

Each of the resistance fighters were checked for life. Any that still had a pulse received a blaster shot to the head to make sure as many threats were eliminated as possible. Mandalore rode back to the elevators with his companions atop their mounts. He landed right outside of the missions base.
"Give me a status report." Mandalore approached the Mandalorian in charge. "They're all dead Mandalore. Rak're was able to get us a final transmission before he died. All we heard was 'They're already here.'" The Mandalorian reported. Under his mask, Cadus's face fell. His long time friend and companion died. They tried bringing aid and order to the Undercity and this was the thanks they received. Mandalore walked into the command center, all eyes falling on him. "We will make them pay. We brought them aid and they repaid us with this blood shed." Mandalore began drawing out plans to unleash his wrath on the Undercity.

    --------

The platform came to a screeching halt at the final stop. Rak're was checking through their inventory as the doors hesitated to open. From their reports they had received, the Undercity was a disheveled mess oppressed by the planet's elite. Their intentions were to bring aid and relief to the Undercity and teach them the Mandalorian way. As the doors opened, they were greeted with immediate blaster fire.
"They're here!!!" Rak're shouted into his comm link. A stray blaster fire hit his communicator disabling it. He returned fire killing as many as he could as he was repeatedly hit from the resistance fighters. He fell back against the wall as his vision began to fade. His duty was complete, he served his Mandalore and carried out his mission to as far as he could. The final memories flashing through his mind were those of his clan and family back home on Mandalore. Finally the veteran Taung warrior died in the elevator surrounded by his men and the ruins of their failed mercy mission.

    --------

As some time passed, Mandalore over saw as the elevator was reloaded. Instead of bringing mercy to those they viewed as down trodden, Mandalore would redeem them with fire. The elevator was loaded with supply crates full of toxins that were set to release once the crates were open. This toxin was used before to weaken enemy fighters that would lead to broken wills. Cadus personally helped load the crates. They were marked as food and medicine exactly identical to the previous crates. Once the lift was loaded, all the elevator shafts throughout the city were sealed, rendering any entrance from below impossible. Mounting his war droid, Cadus watched as buildings were repaired, willing recruits were shipped to be trained, and citizens were being treated, Mandalore's plans were coming to fruition. He had hoped this would be a quicker campaign. These Tarisian recruits would be refined through Mandalorian fire. Any supplies of use to the Mandalorian war machine were salvaged and taken to the fleet. The surface would be rebuilt in Mandalorian fashion.

Standing in front of a recorder, Cadus had each Tarisian politician alive bound and kneeling before him.
"This is how Mandalore views cowards. The old Taris will burn, and those who resist will meet the same fate." In his hands, he had the ceremonial Mythosaur axe. One by one, he brought it down on their necks beheading them. The video was transmitted to every video feed across the planet. Every part of the planet would see this so everyone knew the planet belonged to the Mandalorians.

The time it took for the elevator to rise, get restocked, and come back down was about as low a time as Vallyrie and the rest of the security forces were going to get. With a couple heavy repeaters and riflemen guarding the elevator, all of the men and women in leadership roles came to the desk where Vallyrie had pulled up and displayed a holomap of the Undercity. One by one they stopped, and instead of looking at the Chief, they looked at her. A quick, confused glance at the Chief solidified the fact that she had taken over leadership over what could now effectively be called the Tarisian Rebellion. The Chief was biting his nails, his eyes wide and blood shot, and he looked at the elevator as if it were going to rain death from the surface at any moment. She sighed and turned her gaze from the crazed man.

Lifting herself from the sitting position she had on the desk, she got to her feet. The dirt welcomed her boots with a soft landing. Small puffs of dust rose from around where she landed. This would be their home for a while, though being directly underneath an elevator wouldn't be a good idea. She took a deep breath and each leader in the eyes. They were all worn and tired, bloodshot from exhaustion. She was sure she didn't fair much better; she could feel the dirt and carbon matted to her face like camouflage paint.

"So far they've only used one elevator," Vallyrie said, trying to keep her voice as steady as possible and failing. She wasn't nervous, but the extended combat and the loss of her home had taken it's toll on her. The others didn't say anything or show that they noticed the shakiness in her voice. "I think it's a bad idea to keep the civilians here right underneath it."

"But we haven't been bothered by the gangs or anything yet," the man in charge of what used to be Station One said. Vallyrie shook her head, her brown ponytail swaying behind her with the head movement.

"I've spent almost my entire adult here in the Undercity fighting those gangs," she said as her hazel eyes fixed on the man. "They haven't messed with us because we're so close to the only elevator that seems to be working. They're waiting, watching- they're not stupid criminals that do things on impulses." Having explained that, she turned to the holomap displaying. Despite the Undercity being scarcely populated aside from the gangs that wanted seclusion from the Lowercity gangs, there were a lot of walls and structures dotting the landscape of the Undercity. "I suggest we move the camp to the North, here," she said, pointing at a spot on the holomap depicted as a few kilometers North from their current position. "The gangs will want control over the only working elevator, so this area will become a warzone. The Mandalorians will have to find another route down to get to us or blast through the concrete canopy, which is how my team and I even got down here in the first place."

"And where are we going to get supplies? The food and medical shipment the Mandalorians just sent down won't last us more than five rotations," a man that Vallyrie recognized from Station Two said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Which means we have five rotations to figure out a new way to get those supplies, right?" Vallyrie shot back. "The gangs survived by going up to the Lowercity and stealing from the poor and middle class. We could do the same but against the Mandalorians."

"How are we going to get up there?"

"We climb up through the cracks in the canopy," she answered, turning her gaze to the woman who spoke. "The battle on the surface left cracks and holes in the city floor, meaning that not only is the Undercity going to be getting some light in some places, but it gives us an opportunity to go to the surface and get supplies as needed. If the Mandalorians catch on and fix a crack, we'll find another or blow a new one." Vallyrie paused, taking the time to look at the men and women directly before her and then off to the camp behind them. "We have to make sure we can live, before we can focus on fighting back. In our current position, one will lead to the other, so if anyone has any better ideas speak now."

No one spoke. Vallyrie nodded, her eyes lowering to the dirt between the leaders and herself. "So that's it then?" a woman asked, her voice shaking. "We go from security forces to rebels just like that?" Vallyrie lifted her eyes to the woman. For the first time in what felt like forever Vallyrie actually laughed. The laugh was gone almost as soon as it had come.

"Yes," Vallyrie said. "Speaking of- we'll ditch our old station names and ranks. We'll just go to being grunts and leaders. Let's see how it goes before we set anything in full." The leaders nodded their agreements and Vallyrie set them off to gather their people. By the time the elevator was coming down, the camp was already on the move to the North. The supplies were left untouched, but just as Vallyrie had predicted, the gangs swarmed the area where the camp had been within an hour. The supplies that been filled with gas were wasted on a single gang, which was then slaughtered and devoured by the other gangs.

While the newly dubbed rebels walked, forming a protective circle around their herd of civilians, they watched and listened to the Mandalorian broadcast. The beheading of citizens that wouldn't accept Mandalorian life. Vallyrie found herself alone at the head of the herd, and unable to control her emotions. As she watched, tears streamed down her cheeks.

As the day came to an end, Mandalore sat down in his new quarters. He sat down sampling some of the Tarisian ale he had taken from a dead politician's belongings. Any Tarisians who did not wish to join the Mandalorians were kept under watch. Only the corrupt politicians who oppressed the lower classes were executed. Their heads were hung in public so everyone knew the old Taris was gone. Many of the poor on Taris began to praise the Mandalorians for treating them like equals and not taking everything from them. Those that helped the Mandalorians with repairing the cracks in the canopy and set turrets up were paid well. The cracks made by the bombardments were repaired to keep things sealed. Cadus sat watching his men work with the Tarisians cleaning the Mythosaur Axe. It was a beautiful thing seeing the new converts.

The Mandalorians began establishing their control over every level over the Undercity. Gangs that once preyed on the poor were met with swift, merciless justice that saw many die with barely any impact on the Mandalorians. A few of the smaller, more intelligent gangs stopped what they were doing and either joined up with the Mandalorians or stayed out of the way. The bigger gangs began to lose many members to Mandalorian warriors. Those Tarisians who lived in the gang infested Lower levels quickly began building a strong relationship with the Mandalorians.

On Mandalore, the transports with the Tarisian recruits began to land and deploy them onto the field. Clan leaders immediately began separating the talented fighters from the rest and sent them to the advanced training. Recruits were immediately being drilled and conditioned. No mercy was shown upon them. The trainers treated them as if they had been born on Mandalore. Each day was more and more difficult than the last. Those deemed too weak for the regular regiments were equipped with light armor and regular Mandalorian weapons and then sent back to Taris with basic combat training with tactics used by guerrilla fighters.

Each day, Taris began to look more Mandalorian. Much of the city became much more open with simplistic buildings. Cadus patrolled with his men through the city, overseeing the construction. Things were going well. The poor on Taris were being treated the same as the surviving elite, crime was declining, gang activity was almost non-existent, and the Tarisian recruits had just arrived. With the arrival of the Tarisian Mandalorians in their armor, any more Tarisians enlisted. Any breach in basic Mandalorian law was met with swift justice accordingly. Tarisians were taught to respect each other and treat each other fairly. Those that did not adjust were sent to Mandalore or were left in damaged in transports with coordinates set to different destinations. The Undercity was still completely cut off from the rest of the Tarisian levels.

In space, the structure of a new space station was already beginning to be built. They started with the foundation. For things to get better, they needed to grow. Many engineers from the planet worked with the Mandalorian strategist to design the most defensive space station that would allow for ease of trade. Taris's new space station would be completed as soon as possible.

Sitting in his commander quarters next to the command structure, Mandalore polished his weapons and armor. When he was done, he would get back to helping with construction and aiding the poor. He kept reflecting back on those he lost. Mandalore needed to branch out and grow. For to long his people had stayed to their single planet. Their warrior culture required them to seek glory. Earlier that morning, Cadus ordered 30,000 warriors, 10,000 Assault warriors, and 3,000 War Droids back to Mandalore along with most of the fleet. To help defend against any attacks, Mandalore's flagship stayed in orbit protecting the space station being constructed. Cadus watched with pride as his people's culture spread.
