Mangus hadn't thought to use Wac as a means of misdirection, another trait his femme fatale companion possessed that show her to be a more experienced Bounty Hunter than he. Still though, he took no pleasure in the ploy or seeing Wac suffer as they walked away. They knew where to go now, so if things went well this journey was more or less over now but Mangus felt it would not be all that simple. Looking to his side at Iveta'Gal as they walked down towards forty numbered docks he began to speak.

"Asking him to do that may get him killed if one of our competitors finds out they were lied to." Mangus said as he brought a hand up to brush his face in a sign of exhaustion and frustration. "He may be a no good Rodian junk slinger but I'd rather not have his death on my conscious if you know what I mean." Mangus went on, sticking his hands in his pockets and looking up towards the numbered platforms of the docks.

One by one the began to pass the landing pads until they finally reached their destination, docking bay forty-seven. Mangus stopped and peered around the corner to get a better view on things but he could already feel things were not right even before doing so. When his eyes finally caught a glimpse of the target a sigh of relief escaped his lips but it was short lived, for around him stood a small army of slavers and mercenaries. Mangus knew this would not be an easy feat now, and to make matters worse he and Iveta'Gal weren't the only ones watching this scene unfold.

A sly smirk formed from Iveta’s lips as Magnus spoke. There was something he had said that amused her although he would probably not have noticed which word triggered her smile.

"Conscious? We are about to catch a colicoid that is trying to escape this planet - for reasons we do not know. All that I do know for certain is that our target would rather be delivered to them dead than alive. That is why it's important we stop them killing themselves."

The female bounty hunter went silent letting her words sink in. In truth her mind did flick back to Wac. He had called her a whore after all but if he was smart enough he would know the right people to start a rumour with and avoid any danger. As they finally reached the bay, Iveta’Gal crouched low and peered around the corner below Magnus. After quickly analysing the area she pulled back and stood tall.

“This is much worse than I thought. It seems he didn’t plan on leaving the planet quietly after all.” Iveta paused momentarily considering their options. She knew what she would do if they were alone but what did Mangus bring to the table here? She hadn’t even inspected what weapons he had brought.

“It’s the ones that I can’t see that concern me. What are you armed with? Perhaps I could take the high ground and you could take the low ground. ”

Things were bad. Not only was the target surrounded by heavily armed and quite possibly highly trained men, but from the looks of things he wasn't preparing to run anytime soon. Bad information had gotten a lot of Bounty Hunters killed, and as he looked around the corner once more Mangus reaffirmed his position that he would not become one of them. To top all of that off he felt the pings echoing throughout him that something worse lurked in the shadows, making it hard to decide a plan of action.

"Shit, this is bad." Mangus said as he reached into his coat and pulled out his weathered blaster pistol. "Looks like we know hat he spent the money he stole on." He awkwardly joked as he pushed his back against the wall and looked at Iveta'Gal. "I was hoping to avoid a shootout but it doesn't look like he will be leaving the company of those men anytime soon. I would say we wait for an opening but I do not think we have the luxury of time on our side." He went on, flipping the blaster over to make sure it was primed and ready. "I think you may be right. If you can get on the other side of them and begin firing I can come around the back, pick a few off, and snatch up our friend there before they know what hit them." A sigh then escaped his lips as he finished. "Once this starts we better hurry. It wont take the others long to learn we're here, if they don't already know."

In all honesty Mangus was a tad worried about all this. Something wasn't right. They had been told the Colicoid they were looking for was planning to flee the planet for the rim with a load of stolen spice and cash, but if there had ever been any of that it was long since spent on this hired protection. The whole thing stunk to high heaven, but still the pay day was a big one. This as the sort of thing being a Bounty Hunter had you running into unless you worked exclusively for a patron, so knowing this Mangus simply shook his head and waited for his partner to speak her piece.

Iveta'Gal paused, musing on Magnus' words. It seemed a reasonable plan only Magnus had forgot the most important thing... an escape strategy. Iveta took another brief glance and then raised her left arm up staring at her wrist unit. It projected a few images of the surrounding area, her probe droid was already building a map for her.

"Very well. I'll make my way onto the roof. I'll take care of anyone or anything I find. I'll then open fire from the top and as they retreat back you can pick them off."

Iveta moved a few steps taking a look into an alley she could scale the building without being spotted. In just a few movements she pulled out a pistol and set it to stun, then quickly placed it back at her chest and pulled out another pistol adding a silencer. That one would be enough to pierce any armor and kill.

"My probe droid will bring in a bike we can escape on. Any last questions? Don't fail me now."

Mangus chuckled a bit at the last part of his ne'er-do-well associate's words. She was confident enough in the plan it seemed and because of that Mangus felt that the situation wouldn't be quiet as perilous as he had first incurred. With a final nod towards Iveta'Gal, Mangus to began his way around the back of the platform as she moved to scale a far all in the alley. They would both have to do their part for this to work but the plan was good and both Mangus and Iveta'Gal were experienced enough to handle the average gutter trash merc alone, and even more so together. He knew this, but still he had an awfully bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

It hadn't taken him long to get in position. There were plenty of cargo boxes and crates lined close to the walls making moving unseen just a matter of precise timing. When he had finally reached the far end of the room there was nothing left for him to do but wait on Iveta'Gal to begin the onslaught. As he waited he could feel the sweat running down his face, showing just ho anxious he was at the moment. Mangus was a warrior, a fighter, but still even men such as he got nervous from time to time. However; it wasn't the Colicoid with his clicking mandibles that scared him, nor the hired thugs with their assortment of firepower, no, it was the knowing something or someone else was out there watching him.

Shaking the feeling, Mangus checked his blaster once again. Looking it over and praying that it would hold out for yet another fight. "If we make it through this I'll be sure to get your properly serviced." He said quietly to himself as he gripped the handle of the blaster tightly, peeking his head around the corner of the box he was hiding behind to get a better view of things. As he watched he began to notice the Colicoid was rather anxious, far to anxious for one surrounded by so many guards to be. Something was wrong about him, something more than just having a price on your head, but Mangus couldn't make out the words of him or the men around him.

Perhaps when this was over he could get the answers he now sought.

Iveta’Gal began to climb the building using what gaps and ledges she could to pull herself up. Eventually she reached the top and slowly pushed her head up first so she could scout the area. All she could see, however, was a wall. The bounty hunter slowly climbed the final ledge and crouched down pulling the pistol from her thigh into her right hand. She pressed against the wall and began to move around. Tap. She pressed the trigger of the pistol as soon as a rodian moved into sight. The bullet pierced through his chest and before he and his rifle could hit the ground hard, Iveta’s arms cradled the fall. Dropping him slowly to the ground Iveta’Gal kept her attention on everything around her. Tap Tap. She moved and took two more out, this time unable to stop the sound of their bodies hitting the floor. It didn’t seem to draw any attention.

She moved around the roof tops like an arc. There didn’t appear to be as many on the roof as she initially thought. Quite curious. Eventually she positioned herself in the best spot that she could unload a rain of bullets down upon them. She wouldn’t take many out from such a distance but would panic them into Mangus’ location where he could finish them all off.

It had been a while now since Magnus had seen her. Had she failed? Was she killed? These thoughts would surely invade his mind. Eventually these thoughts would be dashed as flashes of white and small clouds of smoke revealed Iveta’s position on the roof. The group began to retreat towards the cargo for shelter, just as predicted, a couple being caught by Iveta’s fire. Now it was Magnus’ turn to clean them up.

It had been awhile since Mangus and Iveta'Gal had parted ways, and though he had faith in her apparent ability as a Bounty Hunter he was beginning to worry if she had managed to get into position unscathed if at all. However; as he sat thinking ruinous thoughts, shots rang out throughout the docking platform. She had done it, successfully getting the drop on the mercs and other hired thugs and causing a panic that sent them all running his way for cover. It was the golden hour now, and Mangus' time to come through as Iveta'Gal had. Knowing this Mangus slowly stood behind the metal crate, peeking out around the corner, and began watching for signs of the Colicoid to come his way.

Mangus hadn't had to wait long before the mark revealed himself, surrounded by a small group of a more reliable looking sort and clicking frantically as he looked in all directions. Though Mangus preferred not to take lives if he could avoid it, that choice was now beyond him as he emerged from around the container and raised his blaster. A few shots then rang out, blindsiding one of the guards protecting the Colicoid. The others, seeing their comrade fall, quickly leveled their weapons in Mangus' direction and began firing. Dashing to the side and quickly rolling away Mangus once more raised his blaster and began firing, taking another guard down. Taking the others down wouldn't pose much of a problem if this was the best they had to offer, but behind him the panicked mercs and guards whom were sent running by Iveta'Gal's attacks were regrouping and doing so quickly.

As blaster bolts began to ring out around him from both sides Mangus leapt over a nearby shipping crate for cover, making pot shots towards the mass of men approaching slowly. Turning and taking aim he began to pick off any that got too close, while keeping a close eye on the target who seemed frozen surrounded by his guards, right in the middle of it all.

Iveta’Gal lowered her pistols as the group moved out of her range. She watched as Magnus began to open fire instantly reducing their numbers. One down, two down, three down. Magnus was certainly making his shots count but the group seemed to force him to retreat giving themselves more favourable ground. Iveta watched on as four more men emerged from one of the buildings. They were coming directly from Magnus side and in a matter of moments they would have no obstructions to spray fire on his position. Iveta’Gal backed away from her position disappearing.

Had she betrayed him? Did she plan on them killing him and claiming the whole bounty for herself? These thoughts would certainly ring through Magnus ears as he would have to try and position himself to avoid fire from two groups almost 90 degrees to each other from Magnus’ position.

The sound of shot after shot was heard, some bullets pinging off Magnus’ defences, some lasers burning into it. Then a fresh bombardment of firepower was heard coming from a different rooftop. Fortunately for Magnus this was not another adversary but Iveta had managed to reposition herself closer to them all and unloaded both pistols upon the approaching group. As all four fell to the ground, one screaming, the rest silent, Iveta’Gal swapped her focus to the main group taking out two more that stood close to the colicoid. Hopefully Magnus would seize the opportunity to go on the attack.

It seemed like a full scale war had burst out around him. The pings and whistles of blaster bolts striking around him filled his ear as he emerged from his cover to make a few shots before ducking back down. Things had escalated far beyond how he would like them to be, but he had no say in the matter anymore. He could only focus on surviving this volley and keeping track of the Colicoid amidst the chaos. That, however; was easier said than done for every time he tried to move to a new position or look over the crate he was hidden behind it felt like a hundred men were all shooting at him.

Things were looking quite grim for Mangus, and to make matters worse Iveta'Gal seemed to have stopped firing altogether. Had she been hurt? Had she seen how hopeless things had become and left? Mangus did not know, but his doubts were soon brushed aside as a knew wave of shots began to rain down upon the unsuspecting men from behind. Taking this chance, perhaps his only chance, Mangus leapt over the crate and made a beeline for the Colicoid and his men. Taking aim as firing once, twice, then three times at the guards around him effectively killing one of the men leaving just one more.

As Mangus approached the guard had finally regained his bearing and was ready for a fight, however; Mangus wanted things over quickly. Before he could raise his blaster Mangus jumped into the air and delivered a strong kick to his face, knocking him to the ground. Without hesitation Mangus turned to the Colicoid, striking him hard with the butt of his blaster rendering him unconscious. With the target knocked out Mangus took him by the legs and began to drag him into a far alley near Iveta'Gal's position. It would be up to her to cover him until he arrived.

Having fended off the groups counter attack, Iveta’Gal lowered her arms once more. It was back to Magnus now to fight for their bounty and indeed his own life. She watched as he made a dash forwards, finishing off the remaining ‘security’ and delivering a knockout attack to their target. Creepy looking things colicoids – but not the toughest things in the galaxy. Hopefully Magnus hadn’t struck too hard or their bounty would suddenly be significantly smaller.

A subtle smirk escaped Iveta’s lips but the mission was not over yet. She turned slowly, sliding both pistols into their holsters, and then quickening her pace into a sprint. She ran to the edge of the building, her protocol droid waiting for her. She then leapt off the roof, but not before gripping the droid with both hands. The droid certainly wouldn’t carry her weight but would provide enough resistance to break her fall. The bounty hunter pressed the heel of her boots against the buildings wall and used the droid to stabilize her body as she descended. In a matter of seconds she would land, graceful enough and with her speeder bike next to her. The bike was an invention of her own, built for low atmosphere flying and quick getaways. It wasn’t made for three persons but it would do the job.

Iveta quickly threw her right leg over and ignited the bikes engines. She instantly sped and weaved through a couple of alleyways until reaching the opening where Magnus stood dragging the colicoid. Perfect. Cutting the engine Iveta landed the bike and instantly went to grab their target, hoping Magnus would help hoist their bounty onto the back of the bike. Only then would she look up and her eyes meet Mangus’. She seemed almost angry but it was more likely the adrenaline pumping through her veins to get out of there.

“Good job scruffy. I thought your blaster was only shooting water at one point. Jump on.”

Mangus watched as the bike swerved into sight with Iveta'Gal at the controls. A silent gasp of thanks escaped his lips as she cut the engines and began helping Mangus load their target onto the back of the speeder. It was a lucky thing Mangus' partner had thought of this speedy getaway, for just out of eyesight the hoots and hollers of the merc security force began to approach their position. With the Colicoid loaded Mangus swung a leg over the back of the bike and put a hand on Iveta'Gal's shoulder before turning towards the entrance and aiming his blaster.

"Let's hope that the water is shooting is enough to keep these hounds off our back until we make it back to the Jek'Tar." Mangus joked as he fired a few shots at the mercs coming around the corner. "This isn't over yet, something is coming and I don't mean these piss poor guards."

Iveta glanced over her shoulder before reigniting the engine and taking off. It would be less than a second that Mangus' blaster fire would become ineffective as they sped into the distance. He protocol droid disappeared into the sky and began to transfer the bounty hunter information on the quickest flight path.

"A few minutes and we will be there."

She murmured under her breath. The bike continued to sway side to side as Iveta took 90 degree turns down numerous streets. Such impact would no doubt make Magnus queasy unless he was used to such flying. The bike could take to the sky but she didn't plan on giving away their location. After some more minutes Iveta'Gal eventually slammed on the breaks. They were here. Not the bar where the colicoids had arranged the hit but close enough. She had purposefully parked in an alleyway they wouldn't draw any attention to themselves. Iveta quickly stepped her leg over and hopped off the bike. She pulled a wire from her utility belt and threw it to Magnus.

"Tie him up... He's not dead is he?"

She said stepping away from the bike, tapping at the controls on the datapad built into her wrist unit.

They had stopped, for now at least, and Mangus knew they weren't far from the Jek'Tar. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he looked over towards Iveta'Gal then back towards his little friend whom was silently sleeping on the back of the back. As Iveta'Gal spoke Mangus nodded and took some binding before quickly wrapping it around the creatures grotesque excuse for a set of arms. It had not been an easy task, capturing him, but for some reason Mangus had thought it had not been challenging enough. Surely the other hunters would have caught wind of their little shootout, so why did none show up? None of it made sense, but once more throwing haste to the wind Mangus decide it best not to dwell on it as he roused the Colicoid and began to walk towards the entrance of the alley.

"Well, I wouldn't exactly call that fun but we got him nonetheless." Mangus quipped as he exited the alley and looked back at Iveta'Gal. "Don't thin I'll be doi-..." His words were cut short as an explosive erupted in the street just in front of him, sending both he and the target hurdling backwards. Mangus pushed himself off of the ground and peered across the pillars of fire and smoke to better gauge the cause of the attack when he saw it. "I knew this was too easy. I had almost forget about being watched earlier." He spoke as he stood, looking to Iveta'Gal once more. Standing just opposite to them was one of the Bounty Hunters they had met earlier, followed by a small droid army.

As Magnus turned to Iveta'Gal he would see the bounty hunter standing tall and unloading blaster fire from both pistols and into the smoke. It wouldn't catch the invading bounty hunter but would certainly catch some of his droids. She was too far to see where the owner stood but she wasn't going to waste any time that could be spent picking off a few of his minions. As she continued to fire she walked forwards calmly, approaching her bike should she need it for cover or escape.

A couple of droids few to the ground with a hard clank as Iveta'Gal unleashed a few rounds into the mass of droids appearing from the other side of the smoke. Behind a line of them the man from the Jek'Tar, one of the other hunters, stood awaiting his machines to make light work of Mangus and his stalwart companion. Taking his blaster in hand Mangus unfurled a few shots towards the droids as well then promptly took hold of the Colicoid and drug him back into the alley. This was bad, but no unexpected, and Mangus knew to get out of this he would have to play it smart.

Then the man began to speak. "Give me the Colicoid and you two can go." He said chidingly as his droids continued their approach. "This payday just isn't meant for you, don't be stupid."

Mangus then began to laugh as he thought of all they had went through to get their target before quickly retorting. "Go eat a blaster!" Before looking to Iveta'Gal and asking. "Any bright ideas?"

Iveta’Gal’s throat tightened as she heard the words of the interfering bounty hunter. She grew incredibly angry, insulted and full of vengeance. She shouted, her rage fully evident in her voice and piercing all their ears.

“Fool! I’ll make you pay with your life!”

Seeing Magnus had managed to get back into shelter, the female bounty hunter took a few more shots before crouching beside her bike. Sliding one pistol back into its holster she then used her free arm to throw a smoke grenade to the entrance of the alleyway, instantly creating a cloud of smoke to separate them. Magnus may have spoke but it seemed his words fell on death ears.

Iveta’Gal then pulled herself onto the bike. The two of them could probably have escaped, target on the back but Iveta’Gal had other ideas on how to resolve this situation. She instantly ignited the bikes engine and went soaring forwards, disappearing into the thick smoke. The droids and attacking hunhter would see Iveta instantly emerge from the smoke. Before they could begin firing their weapons they would be greeted with a hose of fire as she activated her Czerka Zx flame projector. She hit what targets she could before disappearing into the distance behind them.
