They were one of the first groups of humans to identify as Mandalorians under the Taung. Being trained in hand to hand combat, Cadus proved himself time and time again in the missions he was assigned to. Cadus’s clan frequently took contracts out with the Hutt Cartels to help raise funds to help better life on Mandalore. Quickly, Cadus was a natural born leader. During a mission where he was assigned with a younger squad, the senior leader was killed by Republic fire. Without their leader, many of the young recruits began to flee. When Cadus saw his comrades fleeing, he grabbed the leader and smacked him to gain control of the situation. He then proceeded to lead their squad in the assault with such a ferocity the enemy’s ranks crumbled leading them to retreat. Towards the end of the conflict with the Hutt Cartels, Cadus was the commander of his former squad and led many daring missions to attempt crippling the Republic’s forces. He had seen many of his friends and comrades die for others that did not see them as individuals, but just as a killing tool. In the last great battle of the Hutt Cartel Conflict, Cadus’s squad was assigned to help protect Mandalore who had decided to lead his men into battle. As they were pinned down by suppressive fire, the current Mandalore led the charge into enemy lines with his body guards. Cadus had advised him and all other Mandalorians to sit tight and wait for reinforcements. Mandalore would not listen, fearing he would be viewed as a coward. Almost reaching the enemy line, Mandalore was gunned down by the Republic’s forces. With their leader dead, many Mandalorians were ready to surrender. Cadus, refusing to leave his life in the hands of the Republic led his squad in a flanking maneuver inflicting heavy casualties on the Republic forces. Throwing them into disarray, Cadus rallied the surviving Mandalorians and pushed forward. Hearing that the Hutt forces had surrendered, Cadus led the Mandalorians to their ships to return home. Proving himself an able leader and saving many Mandalorian lives, Cadus was selected by the chiefs of the different clans to take the title Mandalore. Due to his effort to unite the tribes in the Hutt Cartel Conflict and the unity he brought through his strength, Cadus was known as Mandalore the Uniter. It was his ambition to bring glory and new conquests to Mandalore. No longer would they be viewed just as mercenaries, they would be viewed as their own power.
